A List of No Nos

Gluten = Consists of two proteins… gliadin and glutenin. It is the gliadin part that people react negatively to. Celiac disease caused by an abnormal immune response to gluten, can damage the lining of the small intestine and prevent important nutrients from being absorbed. Symptoms of celiac disease include diarrhea, anemia, bone pain, and a severe skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis. But celiac disease often has few or no symptoms. In part for that reason, only about 5% to 10% of cases are diagnosed in the USA.

GMO = Genetically Modified Organism is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques that changes the DNA which is the blue- print for the whole organism. Changes to the DNA change the functions the organism is capable of. List of GMO…corn, soy, tomatoes, dairy, canola oil, papayas, sugar, salmon, golden rice, squash, sugar beets and potatoes.

Peanuts = One of the most concerning toxins associated with peanuts is a mold that produces aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is a known carcinogen associated with liver cancer.

Cashews = Contain urushiol, which is the same chemical that you’d find in poison ivy. It can cause the body to have a very similar reaction to one experienced from poison oak or ivy. If a high level of urushiol is ingested it can be life threatening or even fatal. Cashews have a tendency to form kidney stones.

Nightshade = the most famous food members of the nightshade family are potatoes, tomatoes, green peppers, and eggplant. This family of nightshade is high in toxic alkaloid called solanine. Plants produce alkaloids as a regular part of their biochemical activity and these alkaloids are primarily designed to help protect the plants from insects that would otherwise eat them. Green pepper by nature does not exist, if left to ripen, it would become red. The solanine levels are highest in unripe fruit and vegetables and the solanine levels drop when the fruit and vegetable ripens. Red bell peppers will not cause a problem and are perfectly safe for consumption and that apply to hot peppers also. Red Bell pepper are excellent source of vitamin A and C which are your antioxidant vitamin. Nightshade can cause variety of chronic conditions, such as pain, arthritis, fibro- myalgia, and IBS.

Honey = It is not vegan and it is high on the glycemic chart and on top of it all it’s a vomit:>) so why are we eating it? The Centers for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Honey Board recommend that you not give raw honey to infants under the age of 12 months. Infant botulism is a rare disease caused by the bacteria, Clostridium botulinum. The disease causes varying degrees of paralysis.

Grains = Convert into sugar in our body and it contain Phytic Acid, a mineral blocker that prevents absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc. The presence of the phytates blocks the absorption of calcium, a risk factor for osteoporosis and other bone-related problems. Grain consumption are shown to increase your risk of various cancers including, pancreatic, colon, stomach and lymphoma. Autoimmune diseases like Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Infertility, Diabetes, Obesity, Arthritis, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia and Allergies. Grains are not healthy and they are toxic to the body, it contains non-digestible proteins that wreak havoc in our system. Studies have shown, and I have seen in my own work with clients, that a no-grain diet can lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, promote weight loss, alleviate dermatitis or acne, end digestive disturbances like heart disease, increase fertility and dramatically improve energy levels.

Dried Beans = Cause blotting and gas and In addition to their Phytic acid content, legumes are also contain a type of carbohydrate called galaco-ligosaccharides that can cause unpleasant digestive problems for some people, especially people who already have IBS or similar digestive problems. Another drawback of these foods is their lectin content. Lectins are highly toxic protein that damages the intestinal wall, contributing to leaky gut syndrome, digestive and autoimmune problems.

Nutritional Yeast = Like its other yeast cousins, contained “free glutamic acid”. The “NON-Active Saccharomyces cerevisiae Nutritional Yeast”, as used by many vegetarians and found in generous supply in many “green drinks”, also contains “free glutamic acid”—the same neurotoxic compound as monosodium glutamate (MSG). Nutritional Yeast is classified as an “excitotoxin”—a classification of neurotoxic compounds that over- stimulates the neurotransmitters of the brain to death. According to Dr. Russell Blaylock a Neurosurgeon, “Free Glutamic Acid (MSG) literally stimulates neurons to death, causing brain damage to varying degrees.

Oils = empty calories and with no exceptions, all oils elevate blood fats and crippled the workings of the endothelium (the inside skin of the arteries), putting the squeeze on blood flow and reducing the arteries’ ability to deliver more blood to tissues. Impair endothelial function usually contribute to clogged arteries in the long run.

Vinegar = can cause lasting damage to the esophagus. Vinegar has been known to cause contact burns to the skin. Long-term use of apple cider vinegar could interfere with the absorption of nutrients such as potassium. It can cause low potassium levels, lower bone density, gastrointestinal problems, tissue damage, damaged tooth enamel, sore throat and low blood sugar levels.
